Chair "without back legs", Liberton

The Liberton chair was inspired by the legendary chair ”S 43“ by designer Mart Stam. Its production started already in 1931 in Thonet factory. It meant the turning point in the form of a metallic base shaped as the letter “Sand it brought about the first chair “without back legs.“ Stam already worked with an atypical base in 1926 when he experimented with combining parts made of steel pipes for gas lines. Then, Stam was followed by many designers, such as Marcel Breuer or Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
The Liberton chair has the legendary base and a wooden shell seat. There is a wide a symbiosis of timeless designers’ views of yesterday and modern approach of today.
