New modern chairs with a natural face by the young Italian designer living in Austria, Alex Gufler, holds the name of his hometown, the Italian wellness city Merano.
This chair may just hold the image of influences affecting Alex during his work – Italian temperament, Austrian consistency, peace of the spas, comfort and freshness of local mountains.
Two bent pieces of plywood crossed axis-wise, serving as a seat and backrest are the dominant elements of the chair. Despite these bends, the legs (supports) of the chair deny traditional bends seen in TON products and remain completely straight. The material used guarantees stability and solidness while maintaining a very low weight.
The motto for Merano is: ”Why? Because sometimes you like a painting for the way it looks... But you can also like the frame it comes in.” And this means that Merano is designated for those who select a chair primarily for its appearance, as well as for people who prefer the practical aspect when sitting down. Merano is an option for everyone. For the home, gallery, restaurant,...for you.
