August Thonet
He lived in 1829 (he was born in Boppard)-1910.
He has been leading the company Gebruder Thonet from 1869 (took it over from Franz Thonet) to 1886 (Jacob Thonet continued in his position).
- 1876 has constructed machine for bending of seats.
- 1879 was named Knight of the Order of Franz Joseph I .
- August has also been mayor of the Bystrice pod Hostynem town for 10 years.
- He was interested in music – played and composed.
- 1890 the management of the factory was taken over by his son Carl.
